Overgrown

Sometimes it takes one day to change your outlook on life or even your concept of reality forever. This is true for a struggling college student named Aloe who finds herself going down a rabbit hole she never asked to go down. Yet with strength and determination she realizes she has the ability to preserve against the strangest situations. With her well less than supportive furry companion Ivy at her side she sets out to save her reality from a long forgotten threat that is about to be released on an unsuspecting populous. 

This was made as a part of a capstone student project at UC Irvine by 4 seniors. Matthew Gonzales and Gabe Fuentes where our incredibly hardworking and talented coding and gameplay designers, who did basically all of the coding for the project. Guadalupe Rodriguez who was our artist and creative designer, she is incredibly talented artist who really defined the visual style for the project as a whole and who is responsible for the initial concept. Lastly there is myself Julian Sollozo Jr. who was the writer, level designer and producer for this project. My responsibility was to keep this project on track, write the story, and design the level maps. This was my first major project, and I was so lucky  to  be able to work with this group of hardworking and talented people. I was so honored to be able to flex my creative and storytelling muscles in this amazing project. I am so grateful to anyone who takes time to play this game which was most definitely a labor of love.
